I stand on solid ground

Howling winds, or shifting sands

When life’s dance dips me low

and there’s only so much I can know

I stand on solid ground

Through heartache and tears,

through the peril of younger years

Came a challenge I couldn’t bluff or deny

That to know the mystery inside of me

meant I had to be here to survive

Well I’m here, I’m still here

And if you asked me how I found solid ground

I’d tell you, I dared to believe

That the blossoms and birds and songs yet unheard

were all a part of me

And it was enough, for today

I’ve been most parts of lucky

Rolled the dice more than most

Never, ever to judge another’s

choice to stay, or to go

And if you asked me how I found solid ground

I’d tell you, I dared to believe

That the blossoms and birds and songs yet unheard

are all a part of me

And it was enough, for today

I stand on solid ground

Howling winds, or shifting sands

When life’s dance dips me low

and there’s only so much I can know

I stand on solid ground
